I’m Matthew Shortell - I was born in Connecticut but grew up in Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. I returned state-side to earn a degree in Psychology, where a professor used Hamlet as a case study and inspired me to try an acting class. Turns out, I’m not satisfied just studying human behavior: I need to embody it! My passions include: diversity in storytelling, the excited chatter of an audience before curtains up, ensemble casts, sour punch straws, and long embraces. I am a proud American of Korean, British, and Irish descent.
