Sami Sulkin is an actress from Chicago, Illinois, trained in both stage and screen performance. She studied acting at the University of Kansas and continues to refine her craft.
Her film work includes festival-recognized short films and award-winning independent projects. She made her debut in Zach Boehm’s Unknown (Kansas City International Film Festival) and starred in Erika Lobati’s Body Paragraphs, where she also contributed as producer, casting director, and costume designer. The film received the Audience Award at the Kansas City Underground Film Festival and screened at the Tallgrass Film Festival. She also starred in the action-comedy Nina Is Wanted (Tensie Award for Best Comedy) and has appeared in How I Met You, The Diner, and Mother Doesn’t Like It When I Paint Her Nails. Her theatre and scene work includes roles in Actually, The Woods Are for Suckers and Chumps, and Good Grief, as well as the lead role in a staged reading of Kingdom City.
Beyond acting, Sulkin has a strong interest in fashion and storytelling across mediums. This includes her work as a fashion stylist, editorial writer, and founder of the digital editorial brand Sami Says. A natural-born creative, she often uses her spare time to do arts and crafts, such as sewing, painting, and jewelry making. Sulkin is also an avid reader, with some of her favorites being Fourth Wing, If He Had Been With Me, and My Year of Rest and Relaxation. She also loves to travel and spend time with her dog, Rosie. As a cinephile and avid TV watcher, she has been shaped by a wide range of influences, from female-focused films like Funny Face, Jennifer’s Body, and Lady Bird to character-driven, satirical dramas like Gossip Girl, Mad Men, and Succession.
